How To Do Your Homework Faster In Slotted Time?

How To Do Your Homework Faster In Slotted Time? So I started spending less time studying, and more time on things that mattered more at the moment â€" like playing Digimon World 2 on my Playstation One. By this time, I was tired of studying all the time and not having enough time to play… And that Sony PSP seemed like a distant prize. This meant that I had to have a 95% overall average in all my classes for an entire school year. At that point, the panic pushes us past that resistance â€" but it also stresses us out and causes us to do work that’s not up to our full potential. As Cal says, to avoid slumps, you should be doing some amount of work every day â€" even if it’s writing just one sentence for your English essay. This way, you’re getting started when you still have a very clear memory of all the requirements so you don’t have to spend any time re-familiarizing yourself with things. Now you may need to come back to certain things several times, but if you’re studying actively and quizzing yourself, you’ll be able to easily determine what your weak points are. Similarly, 2-3 weeks before an exam, you need to sit down and figure out everything that needs to be reviewed, then break that up and spend time each day studying one of those chunks. Here are 3 things I’ve learned that can help you stay ahead of you schoolwork and finish semesters, just as well as you start them. Doing your homework gives you exposure to learning and enables you to have success in a subject that you may not have known at age 15 was important to you at age 25. However, you will learn a few things in high school that will have a huge impact on your life, that are life-changing. In general, learning is probably one of the least impactful pieces of the high school experience on your life. I can’t remember much of anything that I learned in high school. Doing homework leads to more learning which leads to better grades. It can only help you, just like how one more time in sports increases performance, your brain, memory, and willpower benefit from repetition. To combat this and to consistently perform well in school you need to have a good task management system, in addition to honing the habit of working on small chunks every day. Discourse Analysis Old Delhi - 2475 Words

Discourse Analysis Coursework: Old Delhi (Coursework Sample) Content: Analysis and interpretation of ideational and textual meanings in Old Delhi walking tour, India: A feast to overcome 'Delhi belly' fearsName:Institution:Analysis and interpretation of ideational and textual meanings in Old Delhi walking tour, India: A feast to overcome 'Delhi belly' fearsDiscourse analysis presents a means of engaging in the imperative human element of thinking deeply about peopleà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s words and the meanings we give to their words or language. For this purpose analysis data, also referred to as text, can be taken from tape recordings or written texts (Rose, 2006, p. 68). In this paper, the discourse analysis will focus on published media. The social discourse analyzed is a newspaper article titled Old Delhi walking tour, India: A feast to overcome 'Delhi belly' fears, by Julie Miller which was published in the Traveller on Friday, the 27th of Friday 2012.The main aim of this analysis is to relate the tools of discourse analysis in order to exte nd our appreciation of ideational and textual meanings, with respect, to a level further than that of the clause. The analysis embarks with a dedicated focus on the ideation element of discourse. This is the first part of the analysis where focus is on discourse contents relating to the activities that embody the main event and how the participants present in these activities are described, categorized and classified. From this part, our analysis proceeds to the second constituent of the discourse system which is the analysis of textual meanings in the text. It entails analysis of periodicity which corresponds to the regularity of information flow in the text as the text unfolds.Details of the analyzed text, including tables and excerpts incorporated in the body of the assignment to illustrate key points, is presented in the appendix section which is the latter part of the paper.Theoretical background of ideational and Textual Meanings metafunctionsWithin Systemic Functional Lingui stics (SFL), Ideational and textual metafunctions are two of the three distinct social functions, the other being the interpersonal metafunction, that language in social context uses. According to Martin and Rose (2007), Ideational meanings characterize experience while textual meanings serve to arrange text in a discourse. Ideation focuses on how experience is interpreted or construed in a certain text or talk, interaction, or discourse (Martin, 2004, p.74). Focus is emphasized on activity sequence, the things and people involved in the activities, the places, the associated qualities, and how such elements develop and relate to each as the text develops and spreads out (Hood, 2008, p. 356 ).Martin and Rose (2007, p.75) have explained that an ideation system is made up of lexical relations, which are semantic relations that unfold in the interaction of particular people, processes, things, qualities, things and places presented in a text. Thus ideation meaning in any human experie nce model entails processes that engage and involve people, places, things, and qualities. In this regard, ideation is informed by three sets of lexical elements which are taxonomic relations, nuclear relations, and activity sequence.Taxonomic relations are the relations among the elements in a text that build up a picture of the elements as the text advances. As a text unfolds, taxonomic relations between elements in a clause can further be classified on the basis of textual styles such as synonymy and contrast, and repetition (Hasan, Matthiessen, Webster, 2007, p. 673).Nuclear relations are the lexical relations between the various clauses of a text (Martin Rose 2007). They revolve around the relations between the various elements in a way that shows how participants in a text contribute to the events in the text.Activity sequence describes the pattern which activities in a clause are configured in the field of experience. It describes the phases and steps of the events and acti vities in the text. In the field, the series of the occurrences is expected, and the participation by various elements is expressed (Martin Rose 2007). Various types of activities referred to as going-ons help in creating ideational meanings (Hood 2013b).The textual perspective is based on how information flows from one point to the other, referred to as periodicity, in the field of text. Information flows in various levels in a text, in a nutshell, the top-down mode. Thus, analyzing discourse for textual meaning focus considerably shifts from lexical strings to the actual modes of communication applied in the text. The flow of information can be in the form of a theme or a new. Themes and news can be advanced into hyperthemes and hypernews, as well as MacroThemes and MacroNews, as the text advances in the various paragraph levels (Hood 2013a; Martin Rose 2007).IDEATIONIn a discourse analysis, ideational meanings involve participants, processes, and circumstances (Hood, 2013b). Fo r example, at the beginning of her story, Julie embarks on constructing the vegetarian nature of her diet. As a vegetarian, she will obviously miss out on the "delectable offerings" at the "Muslim sectionà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ; "the lamb, mutton, chickenà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬." This excerpt brings out a deeper sense of classification. These classes include food, social, and diet modes. The various classes of meat that one can enjoy include mutton, lamb, chicken, and so on. Another class that emerges here is Muslim and the section which deals with meat delicacies is named with respect to that (Miller, 2015).The initial events of Julieà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s story principally relate to herself and her friend, who are seen from varying perspectives vis-ÃÆ'-vis the unfolding of the storyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s events. She, for example classifies herself and her friend as vegetarians, as opposed to their guide Ramit whose love for tasty treats of "lamb, mutton, and chicken" is evident (Miller 2015). There are further classif ications of the elements and the mentions of these classifications are highlighted in bold and italics in the excerpt below."Ramit looks crestfallen when my friend and I inform him we are vegetarians.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ Oh no!" he wails, dodging beggars, strewn garbage and sidewalk ear cleaners as he strides through the ancient marketplace of Chandni Chowk. "You're going to miss out on so many tasty treats! I wanted to take you to the Muslim section à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ oh my, the lamb, mutton, chicken à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ so good."At the thought of such delectable offerings, our bespectacled guide has become a veritable Indian Homer Simpson, salivating with gleeful anticipation. Clearly this is a man who loves to eat and the perfect person to lead us on a Foodies and Heritage walking tour" (Miller 2015)From the highlighted instances it can be seen more clearly how Julie, her friend, Ramit, and other participants have been classified in the text.Repetition and synonymy in Julieà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s story is as reg ular as the various classifications. In Julieà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s story, use of repetition and synonymy helps in making the lexical strings relatively simple. For example, Julie is a vegetarian whose culinary restrictions mean that she is going to miss out various tasty treatsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬.chicken, mutton, and so on. Julieà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s tour guide, salivating with anticipation, is a man who "who loves to eat" as well as the ideal person to lead Julie and her friend on their "foodies" tour. A variety of words which possess different meanings have been used. Nonetheless, these terms are considered synonymous and repetitive because they add to the information being passed by the text. For instance, the term vegetarian and culinary restrictions imply the diet restrictions that the travelers cannot compromise. In addition, tasty treats are reinforced with the descriptions Muslim section, Lamb, chicken, Mutton; Salivating is made synonymous with descriptions such as "Love to eat "and foodies. The rel ations in this section also inform the subsequent perspectives of nuclear relations and activity sequence.Nuclear relations, the other component of ideation, are created in Julieà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s story. Within the various clauses of the text, the lexical relations present are the nuclear relations. A nuclear relation is made complete by the presence of a process and a medium for such process. In a nuclear relation, a process can affect the medium but cannot affect the agent. For example "He leads us through massive wooden doors into a private Havelià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ . The nuclear relation here involves a process, which is leads; it also includes a medium which may be affected by the process, in this case, us. In the relation, the agent, massive wooden doors is left implied.Activity sequence, the other theoretical component of ideational meaning, is significantly explicit in Julieà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s text filed. The activities of the participants demonstrate recurrent sequences. In a field, the even tsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ series are expected. The predictability of the activity sequences is high. The guide "stops in front of a street stall and directs us to a clusterà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬.While he stands in line to Oderà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ He returns with a metal plate with two spoonsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬.and two unusual looking pastriesà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ . In this excerpt, the activities are expected. Once the guide is done with ordering, it expected that he will return with the food to the sited travelers. As expected in a heritage tour, intended for new discoveries, the guide returns carrying pastries that, to the travelers, look unusual. The guide is thus expected to offer a description of the food to Julie and her friend, and does so; "these are Japanese Samosasà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ . "We bite into the flaky pyramid with a satisfying crunchà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬.stimulating our taste budsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ . The activity of biting into the Samosa is satisfying, leading to the sti...

Sample Formal Graduation Announcement

Wording your graduation announcement can seem like a minor challenge, but its also a task that can take up a lot of your (very precious) time. Going with formal, traditional language is one way to ensure your announcement accurately represents the importance and value of all of your hard work. Before writing your formal graduation announcement, its important to review some basic rules of etiquette for any kind of graduation announcement, formal or otherwise. Rules for Graduation Announcements The first thing to decide before  writing your announcement  is whom to invite, or whether you intend to invite anyone.  Unlike high school graduation, not everyone is going to attend the commencement ceremony or expect a party.  It is not uncommon for college graduates to omit the date and location of the graduation  from the announcement.   This may seem odd, but in this case, the announcement is just that: an announcement of your achievement. If you do intend to invite guests to the graduation ceremony, youll need to include a few vital pieces of information: The salutation or greetingYour nameThe college or universityThe degree youve earnedThe commencement ceremony (or party) date and timeThe location of the ceremony or party In a formal graduation announcement, the salutation takes on a very specific, formal tone, usually mentioning the president of the college or university, the faculty, and the graduating class as the parties that are actually inviting guests to attend. These three parties are, in essence, hosting the event and extending a formal invitation to your guests on your behalf. Sample Graduation Announcement Once youve gathered the necessary information—always ensure that you know how the spell the college presidents name, for example—including the location, time, and date, you are ready to write your formal graduation announcement. The information below represents a sample formal announcement. You can replace the information in parentheses with the details that are specific to you. Additionally, center the text in your announcement. The President, Faculty, and Graduating Classof(XX College or University)Proudly Announce the Graduation of(Your full name, including your middle name)on(The day, the date—spelled out—and the month)(The Year, spelled out)with a(Your degree) in(The subject in which you are obtaining your degree)(The location)(The city and state)(The time) Note that in a formal graduation announcement, you would never say something like, I would like to invite.  Since you are a member of the graduating class, you are of course included in the groups that are hosting the event, but you should not single yourself out in extending the invitation. The Final Product It can be helpful to see what a formal graduation announcement would look like. Feel free to use the format and wording below. Simply replace the name of the college, graduate, degree, and other details with the correct information. The President, Faculty, and Graduating Class                                                  of                                    Hope College            Proudly Announce the Graduation of                        Oscar James Meyerson                 Sunday, the Nineteenth of May                    Two Thousand Eighteen                                          with a                  Bachelor of Arts Degree in                        Sports Management                  Holland Municipal Stadium                        Holland, Michigan                             2:00 oclock p.m. Centering the text and spelling out information that is usually abbreviated—such as the type of degree, date, and time—give the announcement an elegant, formal appeal. Use this format and youll be sure to impress your guests not just with your achievement, but also with the way you are inviting them to celebrate it with you.

Some of the different things that leadership can influence within an organisation are personal attributes and behaviours, which can be developed and/or changed in order to reach a common goal. Leadership can also be used as a channel for developing ideas and visions through an organisation. Manage Organisational Change Bounce Fitness Business

Question: Discuss about the Manage Organisational Changefor Bounce Fitness Business. Answer: Introduction Bounce fitness business has many centers in Australia but they are not registered with the Australia fitness body which helps in regulations. The different center makes their own decisions which make them compete against each other than working together to achieve same goals and objectives. This paper tries to check the resistance that will face the business when it changes its mode of operations. The organization desire to change has to be met with the adoption of the codes as per the Fitness Australia. The compliance is hard for the company as it has to be involved in the training of its staff as five of them have no the minimum qualification required. They have gained the knowledge from many years of experience, and the training is costly for the organization as it has to cater for all the expenses. The costs include training fees, textbook fees, travel, and accommodation fee and the study leave for the members of one hour. Finally, the company will be willing to effect the changes aiming at achieving standardization of its operations by they will be many constraints which may hinder its intention. These make change almost impossible for the firm as the requirements is many. Also, the five unqualified staff will resist the changes hence almost making the business not adopt the changes. The changes the organization wishes to undertake are good but prone to high resistance. However, they are very useful in ensuring the general success of the organization which is the ultimate goal and objective. In my attempt implement the changes in the business there is need to engage the managers in the different departments on the changes intended to make. The managers likely to put into consideration are the ones responsible for the affected departments, the managers participating in the modification management and eventually those who hold leadership authorities in the organization. Key areas to focus on the changes are the people and the processes in the organization. People's perceptions about the differences determine their levels of persistence. The five staff members will resist the change as it directly affects them. The body structure is essential for the achievement of its goals; bounce fitness has many centers which make decisions independently hence no control. There is need to standardize its process and activities. All these factors are inhibiting of success, and their control will ensure success. Discussion with the necessary managers in different departments as indicated helps get their views and also their advice. These consultations make them feel the sense of belonging to the changes identified. I will also be able to know the problems they face in their departments for better decision making. The managers will be a great support in my aim to implement the changes, and therefore they are very detrimental. The organization needs a modification in the various areas for it to be registered and serve the whole Australia. I have indicated in my plan the sectors that need change: Employees Training and Development The five employees of the organization are the hindrance to the registration with the Australia fitness business. These would mean that the market develops to another level attracting customers all over the country as its services have been certified by the regulatory body. However, this requires several costs which can total to $10,000 Standardization of Activities in all the Branches. Making the operations standards means the physical design and also the activities in each department to be similar. The decision will be done by a body and adopted by the authorities uniformly. Similarity makes the customer identify the business and develop the sense of identity quickly. The cost for these activities will be $700 New membership Policies The business will, therefore, print membership cards which will be available new members at a given value. The card will be a way of showing membership to the firm. These are a way of getting revenue for the company. Change is hard to adopt and need help by the stakeholders in the organization. While doing the plan on how to adapt to the changes I will need help from the managers who are affected by the modification. Their willingness to the change will make implementation as they head the department and have control over its junior hence can influence them quickly. I would get approval from the managers participating in the change as it means they have looked at my approach and approved it so they would help in lobbying for its implementation. Finally, I would seek approval from the managers who hold leadership positions in the organization as they would help dissemination of the changes to their junior thus assist in convincing them that the modification is real and assure them of their job security. The managers would also be essential in checking may plan and correcting me where necessary. There are many barriers to the change which are eminent, and they include the following. Employees' resistance is the major obstacle. The five staff members without the academic qualification but high experience are likely to resist the changes as they mean unemployment to them or training and development. Many of the employees are old due to the experience and education to them will be torture. They are therefore left with only the option of early retirement which is unemployment. They will resist working without any restrictions. The different branches of the business in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Cairns with resist the issue of standardization as they were used to many their decisions about their activities. They acted independent thus change making them dependent will be highly opposed by their respective managers. The organization, in general, will be resistant to the meet the code of practice for the state as its staff have the necessary skills and knowledge but have no academic qualification. The firm agreement to the regulations means training the staff which is costly as it will cater for all their needs. Organizations aim at maximizing profits and minimizing costs or expenses. Training and development are a cost which the team will highly avoid. Finally, the only way for the team to prevent this is by the retrenchment of the unqualified staff and employs qualified trainers. The resisting employees have worked for an extended time in the organization, and this means their salaries are high. Their retrenchment means the agency can hire new workers at cheap cost and reduce the expenses. The organization also will have few resistances to change (Kosaka, T., 2009) Evaluation and review will be immediate to ensure changes are done very fast to comply with the codes of practice in the industry. The main aim of the business is to ensure changes are implemented to ensure its growth and development in the market. Even though the resistance to change is high there need to adopt as it will bring order in the fitness business. The organization can train the employees to have the qualification to avoid conflicts with the set law. In law, ignorance is no defense and business people have the duty to comply with the law requirement otherwise their activities will be illegal. These can attract business closure or huge fines. Managers have an obligation to ensure that business operations are done as per the guidelines (Thomas, R. and Hardy, C., 2011, pp.322-331). Conclusion The fitness business is growing industry and it needs regulations. The act of the company wishing to register is a good step to avoid future conflicts with the set laws and regulations. Change is always resisted by the employees but with management help it will be achieve and improve the activities of the business to a more professional manner. References Kosaka, T., 2009.
